Ritualized Femininity
Single-sex ritual activity and the construction of gender oppositions in traditionally Iranian spaces are in actuality inherently flexible, wherein a range of possibilities can emerge in performance, even while oppositions are upheld.
This curatorial series served as an exploration of ritualized femininity through an experimental narrative and live performance titled Tanha ba Golha (Alone with Flowers), whereby Fatemeh Kazemi and Yasmina Hashemi occupied the same virtual space for a performance piece that happened live, between Tehran and Vancouver.
