Girls Just Wanna #PARTYIRAN
Even though modern parties are a significant part of social life among Iranians, many families with more religious backgrounds have a different way of gathering and celebrating together.
Moloudi, a gathering of women and children, is one of these ceremonies that commemorates the birthdays of the prophet, his family and other imams. A performer is often invited to recite cheerful songs in honour of religious figures while the attendants clap, enjoy snacks and candy and sometimes dance to daf music.
Similar ceremonies are held for different causes with more somber themes called Rowze where the performer recites sad poems and the crowd prays instead of cheerful clapping —but the snacks and other general qualities remains the same.
